Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a lighter patch of skin on the left side of my upper lip, affecting my facial symmetry. It has been here for a couple of months, and I want help in getting rid of it now. I do not have pain and still do not know the cause behind it.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Do you have a history of atopy or allergies? Do you have any itchy lesions causing excess scratching and rubbing? Have you used Steroid cream in the past? Answer the questions for details.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

No to all your questions.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Apply Petroleum jelly on the lips twice daily in the morning and night for 20 days. Take tablet Limcee 500 mg (vitamin C supplement) once a day after breakfast for 30 days. Drink 7 to 8 glasses of water daily. Moisturize or hydrate lips. It is post-inflammatory hypopigmentation. Use Photostable sunscreen daily at 9 am, 12 pm, and 3 pm for two months. Avoid direct sunlight. Wash face daily with Cetaphil cleanser for two months. Use Cetaphil moisturizing cream to keep skin hydrated for two months. Use Azac soap for the bath for two months. Regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Okay, is there a specific brand to get petroleum jelly? Also, for the tablet, can I use any 500 mg Vitamin C pills? Everything else I can find around. Based on the size of my hypopigmentation, can you see it going away quickly? Assume that I will follow your steps for a time. Will it darken the light spot? Sorry for all the questions. I appreciate your help, doctor.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Vaseline (petroleum jelly) will suffice. Yes, you can use it. Tablet Limcee is Vitamin C tablet. Yes, it will take three to four weeks to go. Regards. Do you have a habit of lip-licking and pressing lips with your tongue?

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
