Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had a TSH level of 9.32 mU/L and FT4 of 1.09 ng/dL. I was not suggested to do T3. The doctor advised me to take Thyronorm. I want to know whether I have a thyroid. Kindly suggest the best possible method to eradicate it without taking medicines. Does thyroid affect the skin? I have a lot of acne. What is the diet to be followed to stabilize the condition?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. It suggests that you have hypothyroidism as only TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) is in increased range and you have a normal T4 (thyroxine) level. Hypothyroidism affects the skin. It causes dry skin and you can have acne due to it. The other symptoms of hypothyroidism are weakness, a puffy face, and changes in voice. You need to take medicines continuously. You need to avoid taking cakes and cookies. You can eat it but avoid taking it in large quantities. You can take vegetables, spinach, cabbage, soya milk, and beans. You can eat eggs, dairy products, and meat. You can check your levels after few weeks as it helps to set the dosage of the medicine to be taken.
