Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Five months ago, I underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy with a stent, and my ovaries were not removed during the procedure. I am married, 38 years old, and my weight is currently 88 pounds, which represents a 4.4-pound increase post-surgery. Since the surgery, I have been experiencing recurring spotting, especially when I engage in physical activities. At times, there is no spotting, but instead, I have a discharge. This discharge can vary in color, ranging from yellow to brown or even bloody. I also continue to feel discomfort in my pelvic area. Occasionally, I experience itching in my vaginal region, and I am uncertain whether it might be related to my use of feminine wash.
Over the past few days, I have also been dealing with persistent headaches and a general sense of fatigue. To address the headaches, I have been taking Paracetamol as needed. I have not been prescribed any other medications. I have only visited my OB-GYN once following the surgery. What can be done for my symptoms? Please help.
Thank you.
Hello doctor,
Thank you for reaching out to icliniq.com.
Concerning your symptoms of a yellow, itchy vaginal discharge following your total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH), it is possible that you have developed an infection with Trichomonas vaginalis. I suggest the following course of treatment:
Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medications as per their advice.
Thank you.
