Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A few days ago, I was traveling, and due to indigestion, I vomited. Since then, my bowel movements have not been normal. I experienced mucous stool, irregular bowel patterns, and difficulty eating regular amounts of food, along with bloating and nausea. Additionally, I have developed unfounded fear and anxiety, making it difficult for me to leave my house. I experience symptoms like palpitations, sweating, and nausea randomly, especially when I am out, but sometimes even at home. I consulted a doctor who prescribed medications for intestinal infection. The medications include a combination of Dicyclomine and Mefenamic Acid, tablet Rabprazol, and tablet Metronidazole for five days. While my bowel movements have normalized and the mucous is gone, I still experience bloating and struggle to eat regular quantities. I discussed these symptoms with my therapist, who suggested consulting a gastroenterologist to explore the possibility of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).

Thank you.
