Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I recently met with an accident and have many injuries on my body. I had visited the hospital four to five times for dressing and most of the wounds have been healed. Since most of them were healed I have been doing the dressing myself by applying Cipladine to wound areas. But I am quite doubtful of a wound in my foot as I am not sure if it is infected or not. Kindly note that I am taking bath and water has been reaching those areas but immediately after the bath, I wipe the water and apply Cipladine again on the areas.

I have attached photos for your reference, could you please let me know if this is infected, if it is, what precautions should I take?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

I saw the picture you have attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). The wound near the base of the fourth toe is slightly infected. Is there any pus discharge? Is there any pain on palpation? You may need to revisit the hospital to remove the necrotic base and edges. I suggest you Apply Soframycin ointment on it and stop Cipladine ointment. Keep the area dry as far as possible. Please do reply to the above questions and feel free to ask other queries if you have any.

Thank you.

Hello doctor, thank you so much for the reply.

There is no pus but slight pain is there. I will visit the hospital as mentioned by you to get them cleaned.
