Would you suggest the treatment to get pregnant?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had an ectopic pregnancy last year, and the left fallopian tube was removed. I have PCOS, but my periods are regular. The doctor did an HSG and a follicular study last month. My report says 'the uterus is anteverted, measures 2.3 x 1.2 x 1.6 inches. The right ovary measures 1.7 x 1 x 1.3 inches. The left ovary measures 1.7 x 0.6 x 1.4 inches. The follicles ruptured on the 15th day of my cycle, and the endometrial thickness was 6.8. Today, I got my period with severe abdominal pain and a blood clot in the discharge. Kindly suggest a treatment to conceive.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is no need to worry if the tubes are patent. Try for six months. Since you have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), it can take a while to conceive. Try losing weight and exercising daily. It improves ovulation. If there is no conception even after six months, plan for ovulation induction.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply. I have been taking treatment for the past four months and trying to conceive for a year. Find the prescription attached. I took the injection for follicle rupture.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I went through the reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I hope they did a scan to check if the follicle ruptured or not and noted the evidence of ovulation. You can continue the Tremont as suggested. If you do not conceive this cycle, please get back to me so I can suggest IUI (intrauterine insemination). Since you have been trying for a year and one tube has been removed, you need to conceive soon and need better treatment.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reach out in case of further queries.

Thank you.
