Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have insulin resistance and I want to detox my body by going on a seven-day fruit fast. Is the fast going to help lower my insulin resistance levels? Is it going to make it better? Is it a good idea to only eat fruits for seven days, since I am insulin resistant?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I would advise you to not be on a complete fruit diet. As you are on insulin, there is more risk of hypoglycemia than just oral hypoglycemics. Please take small meals on regular basis and do regularly check blood sugar levels. Are you on any other medications other than insulin? Or any other comorbidities? If anything else, please let me know. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
