Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 12 years old daughter started getting periods four months back. For the first two months, she had them at a gap of 26 days and in the third month after 28 days. This month, it is already 36 days and no sign of bleeding. Is it normal for her to have irregular cycles?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Yes, it is normal to have irregularities in the periods at this stage when the menarche has recently occurred. You can give her Evecare syrup if it persists, which is an ayurvedic non-hormonal uterine blood flow regulating tonic. This stage might last for another year until the HPO (hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian) axis stabilizes, which occurs on its own.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

How long should I give this syrup? What is the dosage? I hope this will not cause more bleeding. She normally bleeds for two or two and a half days maximum.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com

No, this does not cause more bleeding. It just gets the periods regularized. You may not give her it this month itself. Observe the periods for the next two months, and then you may start. Meanwhile, if periods are very irregular even until next 3 to 4 months, then get a thyroid hormone profile done.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
