Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I missed my last month period. I have done all the tests, and I am not pregnant. I do not have any problem, but I gained weight in the past months. In the last six months, I am getting a period once in two months. I started facing this problem only after gaining weight. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I must say, you are a very conscious girl. It is not very late to combat this problem. You have the answer to your question that is weight gain. Obesity tends to gradually cause an issue of the polycystic ovarian syndrome, which at your age is more resilient. It may revert to normal if you focus on your lifestyle and diet modifications, while may become resistant with increasing age, then requiring medicines. This can heap up to infertility, more gravely to diabetes, cardiovascular risks, and unluckily endometrial cancer sometime in the long run. So, you need to choose the healthier options of life. You can get a USG abdomen to rule out PCOD and assess adrenals.

1. Take tablet Primolut N 5 mg twice a day after food for five days.

2. A balanced diet with more fibers, citrus fruits, and leafy vegetables.

3. Daily physical exercise, which keeps the heart rate above 100 bpm for 30 minutes.

Your periods may start after 5-14 days of finishing the medicine course. Have patience for two weeks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
