Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I would like to ask the reason for my feet being really itchy. I have calluses on it and I already applied a fungal cream but it does not work.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the photo you have attached and understand your feet feels itchy (attachment removed to protect patient identity). From the picture, the heel of your foot seems to have many fissures or cracks. And this condition itself makes the feet itchy. It does not look like a fungal infection, and that is why it is resistant to anti-fungal treatment. You can apply the following ointment - Exora ointment (ingredients - Benzoic acid 6% + Salicylic acid 3%, Triamcinolone acetonide 0.01%, Ichtyolammonium 2%) to apply in the the night for 1 week. Fudic cream (Fusidic acid) to apply in the morning. Tablet Cetirizine 10 mg one tablet in the night (if itching persists). You can also follow the some simple measures: Avoid prolonged exposure of feet in water to prevent fungal infection. Avoid detergent contact, avoid itching of the area, avoid socks or tight covering for 2 weeks, avoid wearing tight shoes or foot wear.

Probable diagnosis

The probable diagnosis is fissure foot.
