Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am experiencing pimples and blisters that are painful and itchy on my vagina and bottom. This is the first time I am experiencing this issue. I have only had one sexual partner in five years. I have been under a bit of stress, and also recently not only shaved this area but also had a small cyst or lump on my left side (the same side as this issue). The doctor said that it was a liquid sack. The sores are red and I have a burning sensation. I have applied an antibiotic cream which has helped reduce the inflammation. It does not burn to pee and there is no pus or crust. I have also recently experienced a cyst on my ovary as well as hemorrhoids. Please help.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
According to the images you have shared (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) and your history it appears that you have acquired some sexually transmitted disease (STD). There are multiple causes of this and an exact diagnosis can be made only after proper examination. Common causes include herpes, syphilis, chlamydia, and chancroid. So I can suggest broad-spectrum treatment to cover all these.
1. Tablet Azithromycin 1 gm immediately.
2. Tablet Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 14 days.
3. Tablet Acyclovir 400 mg four times a day for 5 days.
However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.
Also, please consider answering the following questions.
Do you also have any discharge? If yes what is the color of the discharge and is there any odor? Also, does your partner has symptoms as well?
Hope this helps
Thanks and take care.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I am really shocked as I have only slept with the same person for the last five years, and he also has no symptoms. Are you sure that the only thing it could be is an STD? We are completely monogamous and are trying for a child. I have no discharge and everything is normal.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
There can be a possibility that it is some other infection. But the most common causes are the ones I have mentioned earlier and it seems that it is one of these diseases only, but as you are sure that your partner is asymptomatic and chances of STD (sexually transmitted disease) are not there then first we can treat other causes of this itching and small lesions and then if not controlled can consider STD and investigations to diagnose them.
For now, you can take
1. Tablet Fluconazole 150 mg single tablet on alternate days for three days a week.
2. Tablet Secnidazole 1 gm two tablets single dose.
3. Clotrimazole cream is to be applied to the affected area twice daily.
However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.
Hope this helps.
Thanks and take care.
