Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 20-year-old man. I have a red itching spot right above the exposed region of the back of my neck. It has been aching for a few weeks now, and it looks like skin cancer. I tried using Aloe vera gel twice daily, but the problem persisted. It also makes sleeping difficult since the splotch rubs on the pillow and sometimes hurts when I lay on my back. Is there anything I should put on it? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It seems you have developed tinea capitis or folliculitis. It is essential to start the following early for best results. Stop oiling the scalp. Oil is food for fungus. Visit a dermatologist for a prescription drug. However, I am suggesting a shampoo containing antifungal. Apply to wet scalp, leave for two minutes, and then rinse. Continue it for a month with five times weekly shampooing. Apply Clotrimazole and Fucudic cream twice daily in the affected part for a month. Apply the cream slightly beyond the patch margin to cover invisible fungus in normal-looking skin. Get a review after one month.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
