Hello,
I would like to know some information about jaundice. One of my office colleagues was diagnosed with jaundice a few months back. He is under treatment actively. I interact with him regularly due to work-related stuff. I even go for lunch and tea with him. Two times I ate curd brought by him. I never ate the food which he gets. I do not have any symptoms or any kind of sickness right now. I would like to know whether this puts me at risk of jaundice.
- Does jaundice spread from curd and through other cooked food items?
- How do I keep myself safe from jaundice?

Jaundice, hepatitis B, C, and D can spread through blood and bodily fluids (including semen and vaginal secretions). Hepatitis A and E are only transmitted through fecal-oral contact.
When an infected person cooks and prepares food, followed by contamination with the feces, then it can spread. So if your friend has hepatitis A or E and the curd he prepared was contaminated by his feces, then it might have been transmitted to you.
