Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My hair has become oily after washing, and I also have a hair fall problem, but I do not have any itching. Which shampoo should I use?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Oily scalp with flakes, called seborrheic dermatitis, is common and can be due to multiple factors, including hormonal changes, diet patterns, and climatic conditions. Genetics also plays a significant role in the same. It may lead to hair fall and pimples on the scalp and may also lead to fungal infections of the scalp. The condition may appear due to the above factors. I suggest you use the following medications (consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medicines with their consent). Use Ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione shampoo may be used for three days. Take the shampoo, dilute it with almost the same amount of water, and massage it for one minute on your scalp. Keep it for three minutes and then wash off. Avoid oily food, red meat, milk, and dairy products. Consume more fruits and vegetables and drink at least 13 glasses of water a day. Do not worry, as the hair fall issue will be reduced eventually with the above treatment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
