Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 32 years old and unmarried. I have sensitive and reactive skin. I colored my hair a month ago (the first time) for my grey hair. Soon I developed a lot of pimples on my forehead, cheeks, and chin. I get these rashes or spots if I use any cosmetics or cream on my face or hair. I am unable to use any foundation or even powder occasionally. I am using Clindamycin Phosphate Gel (Erytop) for a week now. Shall I continue this? Kindly suggest a good cream for daily use or for using occasionally. I am using soap for my face. I have oily and combination skin.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understood your concern. Can you please attach some pictures of your facial lesions for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan? Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have attached a picture for your reference. Currently, I am using Clindamycin Phosphate Gel. In the past, I used Deriva BPO Gel for the same issue.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I went through your picture (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). I suggest you Ahaglow face wash (Aloe Vera, Tocopheryl, and Glycolic Acid) twice daily for 20 days (for oily skin). Avoid cosmetic products which cause irritation, burning, and allergic reactions. Avoid using hair dyes that can cause irritant allergic contact dermatitis. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply. Shall I continue Clindamycin? Can I use Lacto Calamine? Please suggest to me what I can apply to my skin daily before going to the office. Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you, use Adapalene 0.1 percent gel at night for 15 days, Acnesol gel (Clindamycin) in the daytime for 15 days, D Acne soap (Salicylic Acid and Clindamycin), Ahaglow Face Wash twice daily for 20 days, take Tablet Azithromycin 500 mg once daily before food for three days a week (for three weeks). Avoid occlusive cosmetic lotion, cream, and cleanser. Also, avoid oily and greasy cosmetic products. Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply. Can I use Lacto Calamine or turmeric-based antiseptic cream? I request you to suggest a cream for a bright face. I am getting married soon. I am scared I will get rashes if I use makeup for engagement and other ceremonies. What can I do? Please help. Turmeric-based creams make my skin feel oily.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you use Photostable sunscreen four-hourly even while indoors for ten days (and 20 minutes before going outdoors for 20 days). Take Tablet Limcee 500 mg (Vitamin C) once daily for 30 days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
