Patient's Query

Hi,

I have a problem with frequently passing gas. I feel I have a weak stomach. I have had this problem for the past seven years. My current medications are Nexium 40 mg and Metronidazole 400 mg. But these medicines have not helped me. I have also tried Pantocid I in the past. Please suggest medicines that are easily available.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I understand you have taken metronidazole. Do you have a history of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection?

Also, I wanted to know if you have tried avoiding lactose-containing products?

How long have you had the symptoms now?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi, doctor,

I got tested for H. pylori. So I do not have this infection. I try to avoid milk and coffee because I get loose stool if I drink it. Current symptoms have been for six months. Sometimes, the symptoms get worse that I can not work, and sometimes little better. Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Thank you for answering my questions.

I strongly believe you have lactose intolerance, and treatment for it is to use lactose-free products and avoid food that contains milk, including yogurt and cheese.

These products can cause gas, bloating, flatulence, and abdominal distension.

There are drops and pills both available, and you can easily find them on the internet. They are called lactase enzyme drops.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Wishing you the best of health.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
