Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I always feel tired and lethargic despite sleeping sufficiently and I feel nauseous after eating. I have been feeling constantly tired for about six months but I have been experiencing nausea for only about a month. My iron levels were low previously but it is back to normal since last year. I am currently taking Yasmin (contraceptive pill).

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

We will pay close attention to your worries and address all your questions with utmost care.

I can offer some general information that may be helpful. However, I suggest you see a doctor in person for an accurate diagnosis and personalized advice regarding your symptoms of constant tiredness, lethargy, and post-meal nausea. There are several potential causes for these symptoms. Some common causes include:

  1. Lack of quality sleep: While you mention that you sleep sufficiently, it is important to consider the quality of your sleep. Factors such as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, or other sleep disorders could affect your sleep quality even if you are getting enough hours of sleep.
  2. Nutritional deficiencies: Certain vitamin or mineral deficiencies, such as iron or vitamin B12 deficiencies, can cause fatigue and lethargy. An imbalanced or inadequate diet could contribute to these deficiencies.
  3. Gastrointestinal issues: Nausea after eating could be related to various gastrointestinal problems, such as acid reflux, gastritis, or food intolerances. These conditions may require further evaluation by a healthcare professional.
  4. Hormonal imbalances: Hormonal changes or imbalances, such as thyroid disorders, can lead to fatigue and other symptoms. A healthcare professional can perform relevant tests to assess your hormonal health.

In the meantime, you can try maintaining a well-balanced diet, staying hydrated, practicing stress management techniques, and getting regular exercise. These lifestyle factors can contribute to overall well-being. However, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional for a comprehensive evaluation and personalized guidance.

I wish you good health.

Thank you.
