Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
When I underwent follicle study, my endometrium thickness was around 6 mm and increased to 11 mm during egg rupture. But when my periods start, the blood flow is very low. So during the second follicle study, endometrium thickness was 6 to 7 mm and increased again to 11 to 12 mm. But all the time, menstrual flow is very low may, be only for two days. So I doubt that if 11 mm endometrium thickness is normal, why my period flow is low, and where does the thickness go during the next scans? Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
A thick endometrium is generally considered normal, but menstrual blood flow can vary from person to person. The endometrial thickness can also fluctuate during the menstrual cycle, and there can be some differences in thickness from cycle to cycle. It is possible that your endometrial thickness increased during the follicle study due to hormonal changes associated with ovulation. The hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle can cause the endometrium to thicken and shed during menstruation. If your menstrual flow is very light and lasts only a few days, this could be due to various reasons, such as hormonal imbalances, uterine fibroids, or thyroid disorders. It is important to discuss this with your gynecologist, who will take a detailed history and examine you to determine the underlying cause and receive proper treatment. In some cases, hormonal therapy or other medical interventions may be necessary. Some other tests may also be needed
Thank you.
