Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I took an Unwanted-72 pill after 80 hours of intercourse, my period started three days early, and it lasted only three days. It was with normal flow, and my bleeding stopped now, but I am still having pain in that area and feeling a little weak. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Menstrual irregularities, in your case, could be due to hormonal imbalance caused by an I-pill. You have taken I-pill a little late for time, but as menses resumed, there is almost no chance of pregnancy in your case. I suggest you take a painkiller for the same. I suggest you wait and watch for your menses and get your home urine pregnancy test after seven days of your missed period.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. My periods started before four days and ended yesterday. The bleeding was slightly lighter than usual, but I still feel pain, cramps, body pain, etc. Should I worry about implantation bleeding? Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. As you have bleeding after taking I-pill, the chances of pregnancy are almost not there in your case. But as you have scanty menses, I suggest you can go for a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. This pain could be due to a hormonal imbalance caused by I-pill. I suggest you can take an analgesic for the same.

I hope you understand.

Thank you.
