Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I think I have linea alba as there are abrasions inside my cheeks. I never noticed it but I had a mouth ulcer so I tried to check it. It was a mouth ulcer but there was something else that looks like linea alba. I am applying gels for mouth sores.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My mouth ulcers mostly happen when I bite my cheeks or any other part of my mouth. I have this bad habit of biting my cheeks when I am nervous or while chewing rigorously. But sometimes these ulcers happen for no reason. Although they go on their own to reduce the pain I try to use some gels. But sometimes I get these sores for no reason. My mother says it might be due to heat in the stomach but I do not know if that is some stereotype. But these lesions are not leukoplakia, right?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The cheek lesions are not leukoplakia. But I am talking about the white lines on your tongue border and the cheek. Do you have any other medical history? Any medical conditions? Do you take any other medications? Do you use any oral gel like Dentogel or Dologel-CT? Let me know and I will accordingly give you a list of remedies. Let me know if you have any medical history and also which gel you are applying currently.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I just noticed there are white-colored lines on my tongue borders and I do not have any idea about that. Is it something serious? I do have some medical history like keratoconus and some medical problems right now which are connected to my anal fissures and piles. I am having anal tenesmus and I think my flatulence is increased I do get diarrhea when I eat fried chicken. This problem started some months ago and I do get some abdominal pain when I want to excrete but I have not got it checked. But I do not think this might be related to the mouth condition but yes I am going through these problems. I do not take any other medications and this oral sore started some days ago and is almost painless and healed. And the gel I use for it is Rexidin-M Forte gel.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not worry about these. The one problem that definitely impacts your oral cavity or which makes you more prone to mouth ulcers or other white lesions is your acidity or diarrhea issue. It is possible because of gastric issues, oral ulcers are quite frequently increased. Judging by the lines I saw on the picture you enclosed (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), does not feel serious and in fact, just might be a normal lesion of the tongue. So you do not need to worry at all. It is good you are applying Rexidin gel. It is excellent for preventing ulcers.

Consult your specilaist doctor, talk to them, and take medications after their consent. I want you to start with vitamin E which is Evion 400 mg application over all the areas where you have linea alba and the white spots. Also, start using Chlorhexidine mouthwash as well (not the regular Chlorhexidine, Chlorhexidine with the anti-discoloration system, or else teeth will stain long term). You can alternatively use Listerine (methyl salicylate) rinse. Try reducing fried, spicy, and very hard foods in your diet. Switching over to a plant-based or vegan diet may set your immunity right and make you less predisposed to oral lesions. You can regularly apply vitamin E or Evion gel from the tablet at night time. If you notice that the white lesions are persisting over the tongue region after 15 to 20 days as well, then I would recommend that you go for an in-clinic check-up once so that we can exactly know why it is not healing fast.

Hope this helps.

Kindly revert for further queries.

Regards,

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I eat fried food once or twice a week. I do eat eggs every morning. I am sharing my full mouth image to see if you can find any problems. Please let me know if you find any other problems. I had some spicy food so I noticed a little bit of acidity and burning on my tongue tip and end borders. Is it due to spicy food consumption or is it something else entirely? Are these medicines you prescribed easily available? And if they do not heal in the given time can it be something serious?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is good if you are eating eggs, as they are a good source of protein. You do not have a vomiting issue or any gastric reflux? As the tongue looks a bit impacted and whitish that happens very often in people when they have frequent diarrheal or anal issues. Are you taking any other medications like Pantoprazole or any other antacid? Oral ulcers frequently tend to recur and worsen only when that happens. You can buy medicines quite easily online. Just puncture them and start rubbing the gel at night for 15 days. If the ulcers or white lines do not heal past 15 days, then just go for a normal deep dental scaling. I cannot see anything abnormal as such and these lesions might fade away because you also said you have a habit of night grinding or bruxism right? Do not worry at all.

Thank you.
