Hepatitis or jaundice at this age must be evaluated for the underlying cause. Hepatitis (is simply an inflammation of the liver) and jaundice (is only a symptom, not a disease). At his age, with hepatitis B, and hepatitis C, an ultrasound of the liver should be checked to establish the underlying cause. Treatment of hepatitis is directly towards the underlying cause.
