Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I do not feel hungry at all. I am becoming thinner and thinner as days go by. There is no skin on the edges of my tongue and it is painful at times. Some nights, out of nowhere I will start to cough, unable to stop. I feel irritated and angry for no reason. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Your symptoms are quite non-specific and I would require a few more answers from your side.
1. How is your sleep at night?
2. Do you routinely enjoy normal day-to-day activities?
3. Do you feel entertained by small things like dine-out, and movies?
4. For how long has this been going on?
5. Is there any recent onset cause of stress or overthinking about some issue?
6. How long have you been coughing? Is there sputum or dry cough?
7. Do you experience mild occasional fever?
Please get a digital X-ray of the chest (CXR-PA) and submit it here for review.
In addition to these queries, I would like you to perform certain tests like liver function tests, fasting blood glucose, TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone), vitamin B12, and vitamin D.
Some of your symptoms are suggestive of depression. I suggest you take professional advice from a psychiatrist if necessary. For the time being, you can take some appetite stimulants like Neogadine elixir 1 teaspoon twice daily before food and A to Z-NS tablet (multivitamin) once daily after dinner for 15 days.
I hope it helps.
Thanks and take care.
