Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You are worrying about the placenta too early. Placenta is formed only at 12 weeks, so there is no question of low-lying being diagnosed then. The uterus grows with the baby, but the size of the placenta does not grow at the same pace, so as the baby grows, the uterus will grow upwards, pulling along with it the placenta. So do not worry. It will have gone up by the following scan. Only if it persists at 32 to 36 weeks of pregnancy, you have to bother about it. I do scans during pregnancy, and it is a common finding in nearly every pregnancy to see a part of the placenta in the lower segment; as pregnancy progresses, this will increase. As in every pregnancy, we advise avoiding any infections, such as respiratory and urinary infections. Drink a lot of water, do not use public bathrooms, and avoid sex. All these can cause infection in the cervix or vagina. There is nothing you can do to push the placenta up.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
