In my opinion, it does not look like a cancerous outgrowth. But any soft or slow-growing lesions need to be checked in the clinic by the dental surgeon. Because the size of the outgrowth is moderate to large as per my observation, and you are having your braces or orthodontic treatment still, I would advise you to consult an in-clinic dentist without further delay.
