Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am confused if I have an eye lump since the lump is located at the top of the eyelids. It is not even in the eyelids. I am getting scared if this is an eye lump or not because it is not visible.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

At first, you said that it is even not on the eyelid. Is it exact? Is it on the eyebrow or up? Is it like a fat mass? Is it under the eyebrow as a small ball and moving when you put your finger on it? If so, it is a chalazion. In that case, I suggest using an eye ointment Polycort (Tetracycline, Corticosteroid plus antibiotic). You can put it on the lid and inside the eye twice a day for the first week and once a day the next week. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent. If no result, your ophthalmologist will remove it by a minor easy operation. Your doctor may try an injection of Triamcinolone inside the lesion and if no result, the removal. If it is not chalazion (on eyebrow or up) you can use the same ointment on the lump (not inside the eye) twice a day for ten days, and if no result, it needs a minor operation.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
