Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had a small lump on bikini line for six months and did not think too much of it. It is now grown to about an inch or so. It is slightly oval in shape, feels hard, rubbery, and is fixed in one spot. I am unsure if it is a deep, infected ingrown hair, or a swollen lymph node. It is located directly between my thigh and vulva. I was also diagnosed with psoriasis last year and have had a mild rash or skin discoloration on my back ever since (during the original outbreak the spots were all over my torso and some in the pubic region). I read that psoriasis can be linked to lymphoma, so that is what worries me most.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through your case. Yes, in very rare cases psoriasis and lymphoma can be correlated, but it occurs very rarely. In lymphoma, lymph nodes become enlarged, and that does occur in your whole body. In those cases, lesions are not inflamed, not red as is your lesion right now (attachment removed to protect patient identity).
In my opinion, it looks to be due to a local infection, like a hair follicle infection. Take one capsule of Amoxil (Amoxicillin) 500 mg three times a day. Take one tablet of Ibuprofen 400 mg two times a day. Apply Fusidic acid cream three times a day. Hopefully, it will settle in a week. All this medicine is for a week. Just relax clinically; it is not a sign of lymphoma. Take an opinion after a week of treatment.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
