Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I got a tiny hole in the skin by my knee that lets out endless stringy white stuff when squeezed. It does not feel like a lump.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Although the attached photograph (attachments removed to protect the patient's privacy) is quite blurry, history suggests an epidermoid cyst. It is a benign condition in which there is a constant secretion of cheesy foul-smelling material from the cyst wall, which collects in the sac and discharges on the surface if squeezed. Although harmless, this can be frustrating to most patients. Treatment is to remove the cyst with the complete removal of the sac to prevent a recurrence. Take care.
