Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been on a rollercoaster, and I found a tiny lymphnode on the left side above the collar bone. So I went to my ENT, put a scope down my nose, he said to keep an eye on it, it has not grown since I found it. I got an ultrasound today, and I guess it is smaller than what I thought, its 3x3 mm. What do you think?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The lymph node you are talking about is insignificant. You need not worry about it unless it grows in size or become painful. Some lymphnodes grow bigger in size due to hyper reaction, so you need not worry.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am worried because of the location it is in. I cannot feel it on the opposite side since it is in the collarbone location. I have heard a lot of bad things. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

But the size of the lymph node is insignificant. You can either wait and see if the size changes (becomes bigger) or you can go for ultrasound-guided FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) that means the needle will be passed into the lymphnode and fluid will be extracted and sent for examination.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Can a pimple on the shoulder on the same side effect these lymphnodes? I suffer from lots of acne on back shoulders, and some on the chest.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it can. Any infection in our body can cause local lymphadenopathy. Enlargement can be due to a response to a local infection. But if it is bothering you, it is better to can go for FNAC.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
