Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
When I woke up, I found a tender lymph node on the right side of the neck under the jawline three days ago. The pain has gotten slightly better but is still swollen. I have no other symptoms. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I suggest you check the mouth, throat, tonsils, and skin near the lymph nodes for infection. Lymph nodes act as filters to isolate infections and are a protective response by the body. I also suggest you gargle your mouth with warm salt water for ten days and brush your teeth regularly at night. If the swelling is static or slowly decreasing in size, it does not require any treatment, and it needs medical attention if it increases in size or is painful.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply. Is it normal for lymph nodes on the neck to be swollen on one side only?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Whereever there are infections, the lymph nodes draining that area alone become swollen. Thank you.
