Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I underwent a sternum MRI and want to compare the radiologist's response to that of other doctors. The answer indicates there are no changes, however, the photographs show that one rib is different from the others, just where the discomfort is felt ( I have included a photo). I have been experiencing left-side rib (5-6) discomfort, chest pain, and loss of movement on the left side for five years now, even though I do not recall any trauma. I have had manual therapy, massages, acupuncture, anti-inflammatory medicines, pain relievers, and other treatments but nothing worked.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I completely agree with your radiologist's report(attachments removed to protect the patient's identity),. There is nothing on distinct points of view. The image you took shows some artifacts on one plane of images but none on the other. If you are still unsure, obtain a computed tomography (CT) scan of your sternum since bone lesions are more obvious on a CT scan than a magnetic resonance image (MRI).

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.
