How to remove a scar caused by scrub?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have done PRP, and my skin has peeled so much. Unfortunately, after ten days of peeling, I used the scrub on my face. It started itching, and the next day, I had a brown scar on my cheek. How can I remove it?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have noted your concerns. In a case like yours, who had undergone PRP (platelet-rich plasma) I would recommend the following measures.

1. Sponge the area frequently with soft tissue or a towel by dabbing or directly applying mild pressure, but avoid rubbing.

2. Avoid sun exposure altogether. If that is not possible, please use a suitable sunscreen throughout the day. Preferably, it should be used between 10:00 and 13:00.

3. A mild moisturizer can be used to control dryness.

4. Antioxidants are a great help. Capsule Antoxid HC is a good choice. Vitamin C 0.04 oz a day is also good.

5. A mild steroidal cream like Hydrocortisone can be used for the present acute condition, but only for a few days.

6. Avoid cosmetics and perfumed products, dust, pollution, heat, and makeup. There is a reasonable probability of your recovery in a short time.

I hope this helps.

Thanks and regards.
