Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21-year-old male, and I am into fitness. I do heavy lifting five times a week, and I also eat well and take vitamins daily, but I masturbate twice daily on most days. I have been doing it for a year now. So, four months ago, I stopped waking up in the morning with energy. I just wake up tired and hate life in a way. I also do not go out in the sun much. Is my problem from masturbation or what else? I also cannot sleep well at night. That also started four months ago. The doctors did tests, but nothing was wrong. So please help me. I really want to wake up with energy and love life.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Masturbating two to three times a week is fine, but since your masturbation has started to affect your daily work routine, you have to control it. You cannot stop masturbation totally because it is not a permanent solution. Instead, I suggest you try these measures:

1. Find out the cause of excessive masturbation. It could be because you are bored, lonely, stressed, or watching too much porn.

2. Keep your mind active and busy at all times, either through curricular or extra-curricular activities.

3. Try to identify and focus on activities that make you feel better. Motivate yourself to do things for yourself.

4. Talk with your friends and family and join a gym along with your friends so that you spend maximum time outside where you cannot indulge in masturbation.

5. Join yoga and meditation classes to keep your mind calm and relaxed.

There is no medicine or device to stop excessive masturbation, and the above-mentioned lifestyle techniques will help you in dealing with excessive masturbation. I would suggest you do not masturbate for ten days and keep yourself busy when sexual thoughts come to your mind.

Hope this answers your query.

Thanks.
