Can excessive masturbation lead to reduced pleasure during intercourse and cause dark marks on the penis skin?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old boy, and I recently had my first sexual experience. However, it did not go as expected. Initially, I faced difficulty in correctly using a condom due to excess skin. Additionally, during intercourse, I struggled to experience pleasure and sensitivity. Unlike masturbation, where I can still feel pleasure, I have noticed that my penile skin has been affected due to aggressive solo sexual activity. I have also developed a dark bruise on my penis. I am concerned about how to restore my penile skin to its previous state. I am worried that the excessive masturbation I engaged in during puberty might affect my ability to enjoy intimate moments with the woman I love. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern. Firstly, I would like to inform you that, the first-time experience of intercourse can often come with unexpected challenges, which is normal. As you move forward, rest assured that things will improve, so there is no need to worry. These kinds of experiences are common for everyone. Regarding your concern about excess skin, it might be related to a condition called phimosis. If you could provide pictures, I would be able to offer more precise guidance and possibly a diagnosis. When it comes to pleasure during intercourse, there are a few factors that can affect it:

  1. If a condom is not properly worn.
  2. If there are difficulties in positioning during intercourse.
  3. Prone masturbation, which can desensitize you.
  4. Anxiety, which can impact arousal and sensation.
  5. Dry or prone masturbation can indeed lead to injuries. However, if the damage is not severe, there are medications that can help restore the skin's health.

In terms of the dark bruise you have mentioned, it would be helpful to see pictures for a more accurate assessment. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
