Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently had one red bump show up on the part of the foreskin. I have not been sexually active for awhile, it does not hurt or bother me. I recently talked to a doctor and he said it was a frictional bump caused by excessive masturbation and it was not herpes or wart. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is difficult to say without looking at the lesions. Please send some clear photos of the affected area for better evaluation and guidance.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply,

I have attached some pictures. The doctor told me that excessive masturbation can cause it which I was doing at least four times a day and which I stopped since and it has been about three days and he gave me a Hydrocortisone cream and it looks like it is going away. All the redness is gone. He said it definitely was not herpes or wart because it was not causing me any issues or problems. I have not been sexually active and this is a first time it showed up and recently I have been masturbating a lot.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the photographs (attachment removed to protect patient identity). This is not herpes. How long since you have not been sexually active? Before applying Hydrocortisone cream, the bump was a red color and not flesh colored, right? I hope there is no similar bump on other parts of the body.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you forf the reply,

It has been about seven to eight months since I was sexually active, and yes the bump was red before I started to use the cream. I do not have anything like this anywhere else and this is the first time it showed up. It does not hurt or cause me pain or any irritation. The last few months I was masturbating a lot but recently stopped completely. So it is not herpes or a wart? I never had anything like this and from pictures, I look up, it does not seem like it is either of those. Hope you can help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Okay, thanks for answering all questions in detail. It is not a wart or herpes. It could be a bump due to local infection or friction. For example, masturbation. Nothing to worry in both the cases.
