Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had recurrent miscarriages. I had my third miscarriage three months back and started experiencing symptoms during that time which have become worse. I have discomfort urinating and feel like I have to urinate often. It feels like a UTI that comes and goes. I experience dull, mild pelvic pain most days. My vaginal discharge has skin-like clumps accompanied by very thick clear mucous. The clumps may be broken up, or stuck together. This discharge does not change throughout my cycle. There is no foul smell. Sometimes there is slight itching. My periods do not have any liquid blood. It will either be a continuous string of bloody mucous, or more skin or flesh-like tissue. Whether it be period or otherwise on my cycle, the texture of the matter is always the same, just the color changes from blood to white or clear. I passed completely dry solid yellow material mid-cycle last month. I have tested negative for all STIs. I am currently on a Boric acid suppository. What could be the reason? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.

As per your description, these symptoms could be due to infection or hormonal imbalance caused by miscarriage. But as you have vaginal discharge it could be due to infection. Get your pelvic ultrasound to see the endometrial thickness and any other causes of vaginal discharge. Get your thyroid profile and hemoglobin test also. For discharge, keep a watch on it, keep the area dry and clean, and wear cotton undergarments. If vaginal discharge is persistent then it may need further evaluation and management. You have to take antibiotics and antifungal medicine for your symptoms.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
