Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was 4-weeks pregnant, and I had a miscarriage last week. The bleeding and cramping lasted only two days, and I feel better now. Is it safe for me to have sex now?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It would be better if you would send me detailed gynecology, medical, and drug history. Four weeks of pregnancy is too early and needs to be excluded properly. Have serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) or blood pregnancy test ( twice with intervals of 48 hours to see beta hCG progression. If it shows a reduction in level, then only its resolving pregnancy) and transvaginal scan (to confirm as no retained products inside the uterus or no need of evacuation). In case of severe bleeding and cramps, it is better to report to a gynecologist. In case of no retained products inside the uterus and subsequently reducing hCG and no bleeding or symptoms, you can have sex.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
