Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 26 years old and I have missed my period this month. Last period was on 19th of last month. Few days ago, I vomited two times, so I have checked urine test a few days back. There was a faint line. Again I checked it in the evening on the same day, the result was faint line. But when ultrasound and T.V.S. test were done then result was negative. The doctor has suggested me to keep in touch and again check up after a week. Please suggest me what to do.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Urine pregnancy test may give faint line during early pregnancy. And also in ultrasound it may take around six weeks for visualization of gestational sac. So, you better go for blood test for pregnancy which will give accurate result compared to the urine pregnancy test. Beta hCG levels above 25 indicates positive result for pregnancy. Take care.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

There is some issue. I have checked TVS test and the reports are here. Could you please confirm what is actually happening? I want to abort my pregnancy, just because my husband does not want a baby now, and I am not mentally prepared.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

According to your ultrasound report there is a possibility of early pregnancy. Now the options are as follows: If you want to continue the pregnancy and if this is your first pregnancy, then better to continue. Because your ultrasound is showing multiple follicles in both ovaries, which may indicate polycystic ovary disease. Usually polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) can affect the fertility and if you undergo abortion this time, it may take some time and effort in future to get pregnant. Also, you need follow-up scan after the weeks to confirm the viability as suggested. If you want to terminate the pregnancy and if you are already has children or if you want to maintain gap between children, then at this gestational age termination of pregnancy is possible with tablets. So, you can go to that option with your doctor's advice. So, you and your husband discuss these things together with your doctor and decide accordingly.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

This is my first pregnancy, and I do not want baby right now. So can I take medicine for abortion? I have a tablet which my gynecology friend advised, Mifegest kit. Shall I take that?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If you decided to terminate the pregnancy, you can use the kit as suggested by your gynecologist friend. After completing the kit usually in 48 hours the process of expulsion will be completed. Better to undergo ultrasound 24 hours after expulsion to rule out any retained products. Please try to avoid this in future as repeated abortions can affect your fertility and general health. Hope I have answered your query. Take care.
