Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have hard bumps on the shaft of my penis, which gets itchy only if touched. I think the cause was masturbation. I have had them for about two months and take Finasteride for it. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I have checked the picture (attachments removed to protect patient privacy), which shows two fluid-filled boils. Are there only two boils or are there more on the other side? Is it increasing in size or numbers? If there is a history of unprotected sex, there can be a probability of a sexually transmitted infection. I suggest you to do the following tests:

1. TPHA (Treponema pallidum hemagglutination).

2. HPV DNA PCR test (Human papillomavirus with genotyping polymerase chain reaction).

3. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgG.

4. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgM, serum).

5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.

6. HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) one and two antibodies, screening test.

7. HbsAg (Hepatitis B surface antigen)..

8. Complete urine analysis.

I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

It has been about the same number for the past few months, and there was no increase. I have had sex with my partner, but it was with protection.

Thank you.

Hi,

Glad to have you back!

I am here to help you get the best medical advice.

It can be Molluscum contagiosum, which will self-heal on its own. Your partner also can have similar issues inside the vagina or around. It is not a bad viral infection but can be self-limiting. It can be removed by cryotherapy if it is not healing on its own.

I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
