Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having a prominent nasal tip and is dominating my facial features.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from a predominant nose tip dominating your facial features. According to the pictures provided here, you are suffering from a prominent nasal tip is due to thick nasal skin or the shape of cartilage in the nasal tip. Nasal cartilage, which is wide in shape, creates a prominent nasal tip.

For nose tip reshaping, you should undergo surgical intervention where the cartilage that makes up the support under the tip needs to be removed or reshaped. This procedure is done through closed or opened rhinoplasty.

In case of any other query, ask me.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

How to determine whether the predominant nose tip is due to thick nasal skin or the shape of cartilage in the nasal tip? Also, up to what extent this can be fixed. Is there a way to get the results in a short period?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for joining us again. Either thick nasal skin causes your prominent nasal tip, or both physical and radiological examinations can determine the shape of cartilage in the nasal tip. A plastic surgeon or ENT specialist may examine you physically by taking history, inspection, and palpation. Then he can suggest undergoing some investigations like an x-ray of nasal cavities, CT (computed tomography) scan or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the nose and nasal cavities, nose ultrasound, etc., to find out the exact cause for your prominent nasal tip due to either is caused by thick skin or shape of cartilage.

After doing investigations and physical examination, it will be possible to predict the exact cause of the prominent nasal tip and the extent to which it can be corrected.

Surgical procedures are done through closed or opened rhinoplasty. It is a short time procedure. It will take one to three weeks to heal after surgical procedures.

Take care. I hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
