Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My baby is 11 months old. My baby has been making snoring sounds while breathing, sleeping, and playing for the past two days. Her nose is blocked mildly, but she has no runny nose. I can also feel the sound with my hands over her back. What should I do? Does she need medications?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern.

Congestion can indicate a viral upper respiratory infection. I suggest you follow a few instructions mentioned below to relieve congestion.

  1. Use normal saline nasal drops, two drops in each nostril every three to four hours before feeds.
  2. Use Ambroxol Hydrochloride drops (mucolytic medication) twice a day here to reduce the noisy breathing. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and use the medication with their consent.
  3. Check if your baby is active.
  4. Follow up if the baby has any symptoms, such as a restless cry, poor feeding, or a fever.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
