Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I get mouth ulcers several times a year.

And it is painful and causes difficulty while having food.

Should I go for any checkup? Is it because of any deficiency?

Please advice.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Do understand that a mouth ulcer can be very bothersome. They can occur due to multiple reasons. The cause can be as simple as some minerals deficiency to certain systemic diseases. If this is repeatedly happening, it requires further evaluation. Deficiency of certain minerals like Zinc and deficiency of certain vitamins can lead to ulcers in the mouth. Certain diseases like celiac disease, certain malabsorption syndromes, Behcet's disease also can cause repeated mouth ulcers. Kindly visit your doctor to ascertain the underlying cause. The doctor may give advice on certain blood tests that may indicate the cause of the ulcer and guide treatment accordingly. In the meantime, Take capsule Becozinc once daily for 30 days at least. They are a combination of vitamins and minerals. Also, apply Zytee ointment locally twice daily for five days. The ointment will relieve you of pain and helps in the early healing of the ulcer.

I hope this helps.

Take care.
