Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a recurrent tongue ulcer that has been returning for the last two years. I consulted an ENT, and they provided me with vitamin and bifoliate tablets, but it healed and came back in a few days. Even I visited the dentist, but they failed to find which tooth was sharp. What can I do now? Is there something to worry about?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Common mouth ulcer has various causative factors. It could be because of vitamin deficiencies, hormonal changes, psychological stress, allergies, accidental trauma, and bacterial or viral infection. A clear clinical picture of the ulcer will help to determine what it is and what caused it depending on its position, size, and appearance. I need further details.
If the ulcer occurs on the same spot all these days, it could be a traumatic injury by a sharp tooth. If not, other reasons have to be suspected. A detailed history, clinical examination, and a complete blood report will help diagnose and treat the cause.
Meanwhile, I suggest,
Visit another nearby dentist and get a complete evaluation done.
I hope you find it helpful.
Thank you.
