Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am an 18-year-old male. I have been having painful urine for some time, and it is coupled with swollen glands in my groin region. It has been some years since I was 13, and I did not take it seriously. I tried using some antibiotics for them, and it worked, but I did not finish the course. Twice, I took Doxycycline. Once, it worked but stopped since I did not take the correct dose. I did not take the right doses of Azithromycin and Erythromycin also. I took it again recently, and the painful urine stopped, but the infection did not go, and I stopped using it, and the pain returned with a sort of tingling at my feet. I have not had sex before, and I could not tell my parents. Now I tried using Amoxicillin for it, and the painful urine stopped. The tingling is almost completely gone, but the glands do not seem to return to their state. Have the bacteria become immune to the antibiotic because I have not used it before?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You need to stop Amoxicillin now. Yes, taking so many antibiotics is dangerous and will cause resistance in the future if not taken in the correct dosage. Glands will become normal when the infection settles. You need to start taking syrup Cital (disodium hydrogen citrate) 5 mL in a glass of water after lunch and dinner for 30 days.
