Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I tested positive for COVID-19. Over the past few months, I have been taking Magnesium glycinate to help with heart palpitations. Currently, I am also taking Paracetamol and Guaifenesin. I have not taken Magnesium glycinate for the past two days, and my palpitations have returned. I would like to know if it is safe to resume taking Magnesium glycinate.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Yes, taking Magnesium glycinate tablets regularly is safe and should not cause any side effects related to COVID-19. You can continue taking it as usual. Please let me know about your COVID-19 symptoms. Do you have any fever or cough?
Inform me so that I can prescribe the appropriate medication.
Thank you.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I have had a fever for the past two days. The temperature is around 100 degrees Fahrenheit to 102 degrees Fahrenheit. Now I have a persistent cough with a lot of mucous and a sore throat. I have been taking Paracetamol for the past two days. And Guaifenesin since this morning to assist with the cough and mucus. I was afraid the pills might interact with my Magnesium glycinate, so I decided not to take them, and now I have slight heart palpitations.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
No, it does not interfere with these medications. Therefore, you can take them without any fear. And for your symptoms, I would suggest adding,
Take all these medicines for five days, then continue with Paracetamol and Magnesium glycinate as needed. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with take the medicines with their consent. COVID-19 causes dehydration and palpitations, so eat well and drink enough fluids.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
