Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I easily feel anxious for no evident reason. I had started feeling as if I was in a dream-like state which I usually felt when I was out with my friends or in a crowded place. I feel like I am numb or that the surrounding area is not real. I have tried to pinch or scratch myself to ensure I was not dreaming on several occasions. I feel weird when talking and feel as if people around me think I am acting weird too. It has been around less than two months since I started feeling like this consistently. It feels similar if I am dreaming or as if I am drunk or high. I feel like I perceive the environment differently. I have been consuming alcohol daily for a month. I believe I felt this way before two months for a short period after an unpleasant experience with Cannabis. I am unsure if my issue is serious, but I feel I should get some advice. I cannot talk about this situation with my friends because I feel as if they would think I am overreacting or that it is just stupid. Also, I am not on any medication.

Please help.

Thank you.
