Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

In my second pregnancy throughout the last three months there was a clear watery discharge with a foul smell, and quite a lot, my doctor did two vaginal cultures - both came out clean. However, at the beginning of the ninth month, she confirmed that this discharge was from the uterus. But she did not say anything further about it. After delivery, my baby was born with high CRP and had an infection. She was given antibiotics and fluid for 10 days. And my gynecologist asked me to do a Pap smear test. Does that discharge have anything to do with any of these two things? Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Yes, the fowl smelling discharge has to do with the child's infection, which I believe you have a gonococcal vaginal bacteria infection. I suggest you kindly take capsule co-Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) 625 mg orally twice daily, and tablet Metronidazole (Stearic acid and Hypromellose) 500 mg, thrice daily. Also, use Gyno-Daktarin (Miconazole) vaginal insertion twice a day.

I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you.
