Hi doctor,
My aunt has had Parkinson's disease for the last fifteen years. For the previous five years, she had trembling hands and could not move heavy things, but lately, her health has deteriorated. She cannot even hold or carry her phone, and her hands tremble when reading the newspaper. So now my question is, can we do anything to stop the trembling, and will her daughter acquire this condition in the future? Is this an inherited disease? Is there anything that prevents her daughter from getting it?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
You may give her a Tablet of Benzhexol 2mg three times a day after food for tremors. It will be beneficial for her. It is not a hereditary disorder, although she may have a higher risk of developing this condition than anyone else; nevertheless, this does not guarantee that she will have Parkinson's disease in the future. She must live a healthy lifestyle free of any addictions to prevent it.
