Hello doctor,

I had PCOD and multiple cysts in my ovaries, which increased after my delivery. Can I take Kalarchikai with black pepper powder for 90 days? Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

There are chances of weight gain after delivery which is quite normal, and if you are breastfeeding, then weight loss can be achieved naturally. Besides this, exercise, yoga, and daily walking will help reduce weight, which plays an important role in PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease). For details about Kalarchikai, you need to consult an Ayurvedic doctor. I have heard that some woman consume it for menstrual irregularities, PCOD, and adenomyomas. Therefore, I would suggest some lifestyle modifications which can help with the PCOD, and they are:

  1. A daily walk of 45 minutes
  2. Do yoga and postpartum-specific exercises for weight reduction.
  3. Do water therapy, taking one to two glasses of water before every meal. The water should be at normal temperature, or mildly hot water can also be taken.
  4. Include vegetables, fruits, fish, eggs, and milk in your diet. Also, avoid sugar, fried, and spicy foods.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
