Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a virgin, 29 years old, and I have vaginal spotting. I have hair on the upper and lower lips, on the face, and lower abdomen. I gain weight abnormally and I have acne on my face and chest. I sometimes miss my monthly periods, what can I do in treatment and prevention?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

All your signs and symptoms are of polycystic ovaries and you need to have a healthy lifestyle and food habits.

  1. Do daily exercise, yoga, and walking.
  2. Try to have a normal BMI (body mass index) and weight.
  3. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and plenty of water.
  4. Do checkups and treatment of all health issues you have.
  5. Eat less salt, sugar, oil, and spice in food, and try to have home-cooked food.
  6. You can use waxing, threading for hair, and mud mask for acne.
  7. Take combined oral contraceptive pills for three months to regulate cycles.
  8. A transvaginal scan will be needed. On day two of periods, do a serum progestrone, serum testosterone, serum prolactin, serum insulin, and thyroid function test. Collect all laboratories and discuss them here or local doctor.
  9. Do recreational activities and quit recreational drugs.

I hope you get my point.

Best of luck.
