Hello doctor,

I woke up with a small non-raised patch of dry irritated skin on my penis head. The area is a little sore and also the skin is dry and peeling. I am only sexually active with my partner for two years and she is clean. I have not been with anyone else. Please help.

I understand your concern

At present, it is not looking like an STD (sexually transmitted disease). Herpetic erosion can mimic this but classically it starts with a fluid-filled vesicle. The differential diagnosis includes frictional dermatitis. I suggest using Mometasone and Fusidic acid combination cream twice daily for seven days. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and start taking the medicines with their consent.
